Sometimes we wonder, “Why he?”
When we see a genuinely good human being, who has neither cheated anyone nor has harmed any person suffer continuously - trial after trial, test after test and his sufferings seem to be unending - we often feel that he doesn’t deserve that pain.
How wrong we are when we say this! Our love and affection for someone shouldn’t exceed so much that we forget that his Creator loves him much more than we do... And, He tests only those whom He loves
Mus’ab ibn Sa’eed reported: His father asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, which people are tested most severely?” The Messenger of Allaah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “They are the prophets, then the next best, then the next best. A man is tried according to his religion. If he is firm in his religion, then his trials will be more severe. If he is weak in his religion, then he is tried according to his strength in religion. The servant will continue to be tried until he is left walking upon the earth without any sin.”
[Tirmidhi]
Allaah (SWT) often afflicts His beloved slaves with trials. His trials should be borne with utmost patience and humility. His tests are a means to attain His nearness. He loves those sobs and tears. Had it not been for these trials, most of us would have been lost in this world.
The Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said, “Amazing is the affair of the believer, verily all of his affair is good and this is not for anyone except the believer. If something of good befalls him he is grateful and that is good for him. If something of harm befalls him he is patient and that is good for him”
